Bahrain-Germany to sign pact
MANAMA: An agreement on the protection and promotion of investments between Bahrain and Germany is due to be signed "very soon".
German State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour Dr Bernd Pfaffenbach said talks were now entering the final stages.
"I hope that in a short time from now we will be able to sign that agreement," he said in a meeting yesterday with Bahraini businessmen at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Spa.
He also said that Germany was pushing for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the European Union and the GCC. "We want the FTA to be concluded as soon as possible." Yesterday’s meeting was organised by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
