Bahrain & Iran to sign Free Trade Agreement
(MENAFN - Bahrain Tribune) Bahrain and Iran are a step closer to signing a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) aimed at creating a strong foundation for trade, commercial and investment activities.
An official at the BCCI said: "The economic status of both countries indicates the presence of strong cooperation. President Nejad’s visit in November last year is seen as major step towards strengthening the cooperation between the two countries to boost the volume of trade, especially in view of the move towards a Free Trade Agreement (FTA)."
The FTA, according to officials, will shape and speed up the momentum of trade activities and major economic projects between the two sides.
"Bahrain has adopted liberal economic policies which entitled it to occupy an advanced position in the Index of Economic Freedom and the investment-friendly legislations and laws helped the Kingdom attract foreign capital."
