Japan, S Korea to advance FTA talks

GINOWAN - Finance Minister Sadakazu Tanigaki and South Korean Finance and Economy Minister Han Duck Soo agreed Saturday to make progress by the end of the year on resuming stalled talks for a bilateral free trade agreement.
Tanigaki said after meeting Han in Ginowan, Okinawa Prefecture, that they will strengthen financial cooperation with China and other Asian countries to prevent a recurrence of regional financial turmoil similar to the 1997-1998 financial crisis. (Kyodo News)
