Korean, EU Trade Ministers to Meet in January

The trade ministers of South Korea and the European Union will meet in January to discuss a bilateral free trade agreement (FTA).
The government said that during the meeting in Vienna last week Korean and European top negotiators agreed to hold the ministers’ talks in Seoul on January 19th and 20th.
A trade ministry official said that the negotiations in Vienna also discussed product lists, non-tariff measures, rules of origin, service market and intellectual property rights.
The official added that the two sides made substantial progress in major issues, including the scope of products.
The nation and the European Union are seeking to reach the trade deal in the ministerial meeting.
