European Union to sign free trade agreement with Zambia after Ghana and La Côte d’Ivoire

Zambia will soon sign with the European Union (EU) an interim free trade agreement compatible with the rules of the World Trade Organisation (WTO). The delegates of the two parties have signed the final offer on the access to the European market by the products coming from Zambia, a press release from European Commission said. Zambia is the first country from the Southern Africa region to sign an interim free trade agreement with the European Union, while waiting to conclude a full Economic Partnership Agreement (APE) with all countries of Southern Africa.

In addition to Zambia, two other African countries, Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana; have signed this kind of agreement with EU.
