Gulf states, EU to resume negotiations over free-trade agreement
Stalled negotiations between the Persian Gulf states and the EU over a long-proposed free-trade agreement will resume next month in Bahrain, Emirates Industrial Bank said in a report. EU representatives will meet with the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council’s six members, the bank said. The EU is expected to drop "noneconomic demands" to which the Gulf states objected, according to the report. See Emirates Business 24/7 (United Arab Emirates) (09 Aug.)
