Dominican Free Trade delegation is off to Washington

9 August 2006

SANTO DOMINGO.- A Dominican delegation of Government officials left for Washington yesterday, to give the finishing touches to the proceedings so that the country enters the Free Trade Agreement with the United States and Central America.

It’s possible that this is the last cycle of meetings with the authorities of the Office of the Trade Representative of the United States, to conclude the requirements pending and then send the proposal of legal modifications to the Dominican Congress.

The Industry and Commerce Ministry’s Foreign trade director Vilma Arbaje heads the mission of the DR-CAFTA, which the Government seeks to enter before December.
