Dominicans await U.S. reply on Free Trade

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic awaits reply from the United States on reports that it deposited during the month of May through the National Planning Office (ONAPLAN).
The latter was the response coming from Foreign Trade director Vilma Arbaje when asked about the upcoming steps that will follow regarding the Free Trade Agreement with Central America and the United States.
She added that the team that manages this issue meets constantly and will continue to work towards this end. “We never stopped meeting, we continue to work as information flows in,” Arbaje was quoted as saying.
The final outcome regarding the FTA seems uncertain, as no new date, following postponements in January and this past July 1st, has been proposed for entering the trade accord.
