Syria to sign free trade agreement with GCC

DAMASCUS, May 20 (Xinhuanet) — Syria will sign a free trade agreement with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in June, the official al-Thawra newspaper said Friday.

This agreement will contribute to liberating trade between the two sides in the greater Arab free trade zone, the report said. Syria and the six-member GCC initiated the accord in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2004.
