Tunisia and United States Negotiate Free Trade Agreement

Assistant US Trade Representative for Europe and the Mediterranean Catherine Novelli announced in Tunis on Wednesday (15 June) that the United States and Tunisia are negotiating for the establishment of a free trade agreement (FTA).

"Tunisia represents a strategic partner for the United States and constitutes a market relay for the access to the markets of proximity such as Africa and Europe," Novelli said at a meeting organized by the Tunisian-American Chamber of Commerce. Novelli led FTA negotiations with Morocco which was signed in June 2004. (L’Economiste)
