Ukraine, Israel want to expand free trade agreement to cover services
Ukraine and Israel have agreed to start to work on the expansion of the free trade agreement to cover services.
"Israel remains Ukraine’s key trading partner in the Middle East. Our cumulative trade turnover has exceeded $1 billion. I have no doubt that this figure will increase significantly soon due to signing of the Ukraine-Israel Free Trade Agreement, which we hope will be ratified by the Israeli side in the near future. We have also agreed to start without delay to work on the expansion of the agreement to cover services," President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at a joint briefing with Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
He also invited Israeli companies to invest and come to work in Ukraine, in particular in the field of road construction and infrastructure projects, medicine, education, energy and IT.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine will use Israel’s experience in implementing innovations, scientific and research developments and supporting startups.
"We have discussed the possibility of setting up separate offices to develop these industries respectively in Jerusalem and Kyiv. I see great potential for mutually beneficial cooperation in these areas," the President said.
