Ukraine, Israel ready to sign FTA agreement – PM Groysman

Ukraine and Israel have reached the final stage of signing the agreement on a free trade area (FTA).

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said this at a government meeting, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"In 2017, we intensively worked on the completion of the free trade area negotiations with the State of Israel. There will be a joint statement of the Governments and Ministries of Israel and Ukraine that the free trade area agreement between the two countries reached the final stage. We are opening new markets; it will positively influence our economy and the development of our competitiveness," the prime minister said.

He added that as of today, without the FTA agreement, the trade with Israel reached $800 million.

"We are forming clear conditions for economic growth. The growth is not rapid as we would like to have, but I am deeply convinced that the economy will grow and the Ukrainian product will win the markets of other countries. To do this, it is very important to introduce a free trade area with our partners," Groysman said.
