Chile, New Zealand, Singapore conclude second round of free trade talks

SINGAPORE : Chile, New Zealand and Singapore have completed the second round of negotiations on the Pacific Three Free Trade Agreement (P3 FTA) in Wellington, New Zealand.

A statement by the Singapore government says the three sides conducted discussions on a comprehensive range of issues.

These include trade in goods, rules of origin, technical barriers to trade, trade in services, financial services, investment, and intellectual property.

Discussions were also held between labour and environment officials.

The next round of negotiations will be held in Santiago, Chile in end 2004 or early 2005.

Brunei was invited to participate at this round as an observer. - CNA
