Singapore leaders, GCC Secretary General discuss Free Trade Agreement

SINGAPORE: The visiting Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Mr Abdulrahman Hamad Al-Attiyah, met Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana on Friday.

He is here under the Singapore International Foundation’s Middle East Eminent Persons’ Programme.

Mr Abdulrahman also met Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.

The two leaders discussed the cooperation between Singapore and the GCC, including the proposed GCC-Singapore Free Trade Agreement.

They also talked about broader opportunities for countries in Asia and the Middle East to work together, and exchanged views on developments in the Middle East, especially the situations in Iran and Iraq.
