Cabinet approves signing of PTA with Chile

New Delhi, Feb. 23. (PTI): The Union Cabinet today approved signing of Preferential Trade Agreement between India and Chile which will pave the way for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two countries.

"The trade agreement will facilitate the ongoing endeavour to strengthen trade and economic relations between Chile and India," Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi said after a meeting of the Cabinet.

He said the signing of PTA with Chile will pave the way towards negotiating a Free Trade Agreement.

"This will boost out trade with Chile in particular and Latin America in general," Dasmunsi said.
