Entrepreneurs request: "no further Free Trade delays"

Santiago.- The Chamber of Commerce and Production here yesterday requested of the government to avoid postponing implementation of the Free Trade Agreement with Central America and the United States.

In a document, Chamber president Ricardo Fondeur expressed that pending issues should not constitute an obstacle for initiating the accord.

Fondeur recalled that important foreign firms have installed in Dominican territory, seeking to benefits offered by the trade agreement.

The Chamber sustained that, if postponed, employment opportunities at the Industrial Park of the Duty-Free Zone in Santiago would diminish.
