India and Trinidad and Tobago to strengthen commercial ties

Port of Spain, Jan 4 (Prensa Latina) India and Trinidad and Tobago authorities agreed on the existence of space for greater collaboration in the areas of investment and trade, local media reported today.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Trinidad and Tobago, the head of this portfolio Paula Gopee-Scoon received the day before a courtesy call from the High Commissioner of India in this country, Parader Singh Rajpurohit, during which the possibility of the formation of a business council between both nations was discussed.

The representatives also analyzed the progress of a Bilateral Investment Treaty and future missions in this field, with the objective of strengthening commercial ties, while stressing the close ties present in sports and culture, reports Trinidad and Tobago Newsday.

The Minister warmly welcomed the High Commissioner and emphasized the importance of maintaining and deepening the relationship between the two countries.
