RP seeking free trade deal with EU

THE PHILIPPINES has signaled its interest to the European Union to engage
in talks for a free trade deal, Trade officials told reporters in a
briefing on Wednesday.
Trade Secretary Gregory L. Domingo said he spoke with the EU Trade
Commissioner at the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian
Nations meeting in Vietnam last week.
Trade Undersecretary Adrian J. Cristobal, Jr. for his part said the
department is now preparing for exploratory talks although no schedule has
been set.
