Yes to a sustainable trade policy – no to the TTIP
This short publication highlights some of the potential risks that the EU-US free trade agreement represents to the developing and emerging countries. It is divided in three chapters. First of all, we focus on the TTIP negotiations from the WTO perspective, as well as the Doha Development Round and the European free trade policy. At the second part, we discuss some negative impacts on the Global South, focusing on the investment regime. Finally, we describe the requirements for a sustainable and equitable trade policy.
