KARACHI : Islamabad and Seoul can raise bilateral trade up to $3 billion, for which both governments should expedite negotiations to sign a free trade agreement and encourage the visit of business delegations and exhibitors from either side, said a press release obtained from the Karachi Chambers of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Thursday.
“Given the potential of trade between the two countries, current trade – which stands at about $1.3 billion – could be increased to $2-3 billion,” said KCCI president Mian Abrar Ahmed, in a meeting with South Korea’s Ambassador to Pakistan Choong Joo Choi. Ahmed proposed that both governments expedite negotiations for the signing of a free trade agreement.
